Post-Roman Jews: The Legacy of Rome at the Transition from Late Antiquity to the Middle Ages with Prof. Fred Astren

Prof. Fred Astren will speak on the experience of Jews in the kingdom of the Visigoths. The intertwined discourses of state, theology, and law exceeded limits set in the Roman imperial past and thereby re-shaped post-Roman realities for Jews that would reverberate into the Middle Ages.
