Lisa Newmark, "Jewish Studies and Disability Advocacy"

Lisa Newmark is the Employment Programs Director at Integrated Community Services (ICS), where she works with staff to ensure that ICS clients develop and cultivate professional skills that allow them to join the workforce. She also helps build bridges in the business community so that employers understand that hiring people with disabilities is a win-win situation: not just for the individual, but also for the business.

Lisa Newmark received a B.A. in Jewish Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles and a master's degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling from San Francisco State University.

The event is part of the Department of Jewish Studies's #JewishStudiesAnd lecture series, which explores how university degrees can serve as a springboard for a wide range of careers.
