Jewish Studies and Food Writing with Journalist Alix Wall

As part of the Department of Jewish Studies's ongoing "Jewish Studies and—" series, Alix Wall will speak about the intersection of her work as a food writer and editor and Jewish Studies.

Alix Wall is an award-winning journalist with interests in food, Jews, love stories, and criminal justice reform. She is a contributing editor at J. The Jewish News of Northern California, where she writes a regular column about Jews in the food industry as well as other features, and she is a regular contributor to Berkeleyside Nosh and Edible East Bay. She has also been a regular contributor to KQED Bay Area Bites, The Forward, and many more. She is also the founder of The Illuminoshi: The Not-So-Secret Society of Bay Area Jewish Food Professionals and is producer/writer of a documentary in progress called Lonely Child Movie.

The "Jewish Studies and—" series explores how university degrees can serve as a springboard for a wide range of careers, including some surprising professions.
